WHL Announces 2006-07 All Star Teams

Vancouver Giants defenceman CODY FRANSON has been named to the WHL's Western Conference First All Star Team. Yesterday Franson was named as the Western Conference Nominee for the WHL Top Defenceman of the Year.

In 59 games with the Giants this season, Franson collected 17 goals and 34 assists. He also had 12 power play goals and 6 game winning goals.

The native of Sicamous, B.C. also helped Canada win a gold medal at the World Junior Championships last January in Sweden.

Franson is the second Giants defenceman to be named to the Western Conference First All-Star Team. Last season, former Giants defenceman PAUL ALBERS received the same honour.

Attached is a list of players named to both the First and Second All Star Teams in both the Western and Eastern Conferences.
