WhiteWings Sign Pair of Catchers

HARLINGEN - The North American League's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced on Friday the signing of a pair of catchers for the 2011 season, the Wings inked both *Douglas Hansen* (5'9, 185) and *Wesley Dimitt* (6'0, 205) to contracts.

Hansen suited up for the University of California-Santa Barbara last season. The Redwood City, Calif, native hit .222 for the Gaucho's. Hansen played two seasons at UCSB and before that donned the catchers gear for the College of San Mateo where he was a two year starter winning a pair of conference championships.

Dimitt joins the WhiteWings fresh from the Arizona Winter League where he suited up from Team Mexico. In 14 games Dimitt hit .354 with 17 hits and 11 RBI's. Collegiately, Dimitt played for Bluefield College of the NAIA Appalachian Athletic Conference.

The WhiteWings open the season with a four game series against the Edinburg Roadrunners at Edinburg Baseball Stadium May 25-through-28. The WhiteWings host the new McAllen Thunder in their home opening series from May 29-through-June 1.
