
WhiteWings Blowout Thunder in Game 1

The WhiteWings exploded for five runs in the bottom of the first and eight in the bottom of the fourth to help deliver a decisive 16-4 victory over the McAllen Thunder in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
The WhiteWings (29-22) didn't waste any time getting on the scoreboard, putting five runs on the board against the Thunder (18-32) before the first out was recorded. With the first two batters of the game reaching base, David Peralta belted a double into centerfield which brought home two runners to make the score 2-0 Wings.
A Leivi Ventura RBI single made the score 3-0 and one batter later, Gerardo Avila hit his ninth homerun of the year to drive in two more runs across the plate to give the Wings a 5-0 advantage.
The WhiteWings bats jumped back to life with an eight-run bottom of the fourth that made the score 13-1. Overall, the Wings hit four homeruns and recorded nine hits in the inning.
Wilmer Pino and Edgar Trejo led off the big inning with back-to-back home runs while David Peralta and Gerardo Avila also tallied homeruns, their 12th and ninth homeruns on the year.
Despite twelve hits by the McAllen Thunder, they registered just four runs.
Three more runs were scored by the WhiteWings in the bottom of sixth to make the score 16-3 as Edgar Trejo and Gabriel Ortiz both recorded RBI base hits.
Chase Davenport recorded the win, going five innings, giving up just two earned runs to move 5-3 on the year.
J.T. Zink moves to 1-1 on the year with the loss.
