WhiteWings 2012 season to open May 23

The Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings have announced that three separate packages of season tickets are now on sale for the 2012 baseball season, which begins on May 23.

General Manager Doug Robinson also noted that the upcoming season of the WhiteWings, defending champions of the southern division of the North American League, includes two new teams to the division schedule, the Fort Worth Cats and the Abilene Prairie Dogs, along with the Edinburg Roadrunners, McAllen Thunder and San Angelo Colts.

The Grand Salami package offers reserved seats for all 56 home games for the season. The new prices are $295 for Box Seats and $175 for Reserved Grandstand seats. The Wings will be playing an additional 12 home games at Harlingen Field.

Also, Grand Salami ticket holders will be eligible for a nightly prize, courtesy of the WhiteWings.

A Pinch Hitter Hitter package of 28 games is priced at $150 for Box Seats and $85 for Reserved Grandstand.

Robinson said that those purchasing Grand Salami or Pinch Hitterr packages also will be invited (at no charge) to three picnics at the ballpark, as well VIP parking,

If season ticket holders pay in full when they place their orders, they will receive a 5 percent discount.

The third package,Relief Pitcher, a 14-game package, for $75, in the Reserved Grandstand seating area. That involves three games a month, including opening night and the last game of the season, Fan Appreciation Night.

The WhiteWings open the season with four games with the Fort Worth Cats in Fort Worth May 23-26, then two home games with the Edinburg Roadrunners, May 27-28 at Harlingen Field. They follow with two games in Edinburg, then four home games with the Abilene PrairieDogs.
