WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Three former Winston-Salem stars-infielder Micah Johnson, right-hander Frankie Montas and outfielder Trayce Thompson-helped the Dash's parent club, the Chicago White Sox, acquire infielder Todd Frazier from the Cincinnati Reds.

Johnson, Montas and Thompson, all of whom made their big league debuts with the White Sox in 2015, will head to the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. The Dodgers sent three Minor League prospects to the Reds to complete the transaction early Wednesday afternoon.

A two-time All-Star and the reigning Home Run Derby champion, Frazier hit .255 with 35 home runs, 89 RBIs and 82 runs scored for the Reds in 2015. The 29-year-old had spent his entire professional career with Cincinnati, who selected him with the 34th overall pick in the 2007 MLB Draft.

Johnson cracked the White Sox Opening Day roster this season and split time between Chicago and Triple-A Charlotte. The former Indiana Hoosier hit .275 with 22 stolen bases in 49 games for Winston-Salem in 2013 before helping Double-A Birmingham claim a Southern League championship.

Montas was one of the most dominant pitchers in the Carolina League in 2014. He posted a 4-0 record and a 1.60 earned run average in his 10 outings with the Dash. This past season, Montas was largely with Birmingham, though he did make seven appearances with the Sox, with whom the Dominican Republic native logged a 4.80 earned run average and struck out 20 in 15 innings.

Thompson starred for the White Sox down the stretch this season to the tune of a .295 batting average, five homers, 16 RBIs and 17 runs scored in 44 games. During Winston-Salem's historic 2012 season, Thompson earned a spot on the CL's Year-End All-Star team. Should he remain in the Majors when 2016 begins, Thompson will play in the city of his birth. His brother Klay Thompson is an All-Star with the NBA's Golden State Warriors.

The Dash are offering many great deals for the Holidays, including a seven-game Holiday Mini Plan and a Two for $22 deal with Krispy Kreme for Opening Day tickets. Also, if you sign up for the first session of the Dash's Youth Baseball Academy, you will also receive a commemorative baseball. Details are available on wsdash.com.

The Winston-Salem Dash are the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. To purchase tickets and for more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com.
