Wheeling's Brace Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Riley Brace of the Wheeling Nailers is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 17-19.

Brace had three goals, added an assist and was a +3 in Wheeling's season-opening 6-3 win against Reading on Saturday.

The 22-year-old is tied for the league lead with three goals and he is tied for third with four points.

A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Brace has 13 points (7g-6a) in 14 career ECHL games with Wheeling, Ontario and San Francisco. He has added 11 points (3g-8a) in 56 career AHL games with Worcester.

Prior to turning pro, Brace recorded 234 points (89g-145a) in 304 career games in the Ontario Hockey League with Mississauga.

On behalf of Riley Brace, a case of pucks will be donated to a Wheeling youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 31,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
