Wheat Kings Prepare for Sell Out Game Versus Bedard & the Pats

Last Game: The Wheat Kings and Raiders went to battle on Family Day with the Raiders taking it in overtime. It was a game where the Wheat Kings had a 3-2 lead but allowed an Evan Herman goal late in the third forcing OT. In the extra frame Sloan Stanick would go between his legs to beat Carson Bjarnason giving the Raiders the 4-3 win. The OT loss would put the Wheat Kings overtime record to 0-8.

Feb 20th VS Pats : The Wheat Kings & Pats meet for the 4th time this season. The Wheat Kings were victorious in their last two meetings versus the Pats back on December 28th and January 4th. Both games were won by 4 goals for the Wheat Kings and that was mainly due to the depleted lineup for the Pats. A standout forward in both games for the Wheat Kings was Anthony Wilson who scored against the Pats twice already. Both Connor Bedard and Stanislav Svozil were out of the lineup due to the World Juniors and it's safe to say the Pats are a much different club since Bedard & Svozil's return. In the past 5 games, they've scored no less than 4 goals a game and have won 5 of their last 8 games. The Wheat Kings have scored no less than 4 goals in one game only once in their last five outings. Carson Bjarnason got both starts for the Wheat Kings. December 28th was a 19 save shutout and January 4th Bjarnason stopped 18 of 20 shots.

Canada Winter Games: There are several Wheat Kings participating in the U16 Tournament in the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island this month. Wheat Kings prospects participating include Joby Baumuller & Emerson Clark (Team Saskatchewan), Easton Odut (Team Manitoba) then Gradey Hope & Ryder Green (Team British Columbia). Leading the way is Wheat Kings Top Prospect Joby Baumuller with 3 goals and 4 assists in 4 games played. Baumuller led Team Saskatchewan to a perfect 4-0 in the preliminary round.

Who's Hot: Brett Hyland currently has 19 goals scored in his last 21 games. Forward Nate Danielson has been stellar as of late scoring 51 points in his last 35 games. Nolan Ritchie has 43 points in his last 33 games.
