
WHCF to Carry Lumberjacks\' Games

Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks will have 25 of their home games carried on WHCF this summer the Northeast League club announced today. WHCF's frequency is 88.5 FM in Bangor and 102.7 FM in Presque Isle. The games will also be webcast by the station from their website at www.whcf.cc. A link from the Lumberjacks website will take listeners to the webcast as well.
Wayne Frost will be the voice of the Lumberjacks this summer. A veteran of the microphone, Wayne has done play-by-play for many sports including basketball, volleyball, and football, but will return to his favorite sport this summer with the Lumberjacks. Frost lived 12 years in Guam, broadcasting baseball games back to the island nation from as far away as Kissimmee, FL and basketball games from Japan.
Joining Frost in the booth as color analyst will be Carroll Conley, who has served in the booth for WHCF since 1992, doing high school sports. Conley played baseball in college and semi-pro ball for the Presque Isle Sonics of the Maine/New Brunswick League and the Mansfield Royals of the Massachusetts Senior League.
Adding a third dimension is Michael Blake. Blake grew up in Northern Maine playing baseball in high school and college, helping to lead Northern Maine Technical College to two second place finishes in two years. Mike has coached at the youth, middle school, and high school level, serving most recently as a hitting instructor at the varsity high school level.

The station is looking at the possibility of adding additional coverage of games later in the season should a pennant race develop. WHCF will also be covering any playoff games, should the Lumberjacks advance to the postseason.
The Lumberjack's home opener is fast approaching. The Jacks will take on the New Jersey Jackals on Friday, May 30 at 7:15 PM at Mahaney Diamond on the campus of the University of Maine in Orono. There will be fireworks after the game presented by the American Red Cross Blood Donation Center. Tickets are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at (207) 947-1900 or by stopping in the Lumberjacks Pro Shop in the Bangor Mall, across from Ruby Tuesday.
