
What Can We Do For You?" Campaign Unveiled

DANVILLE, IL - The Dragons this morning announced the "What Can We Do For You?" Campaign. This will be a yearlong campaign and will have two phases. While phase one will start immediately, phase two will be announced and started in February with the start of training camp.
Phase one includes the following three components:
Dragons Toys and Food Drive: Starting Tuesday October 18, collection bins will be placed at the following locations in Danville: YMCA (1111 North Vermilion Street), and Gutterridge Harley-Davidson (1606 Georgetown Road). All items collected will stay in Danville. As part of the food drive during each of the seven home games, each player and coach on the Dragons will be donating a non-perishable food item.
Earl Christy Award for Outstanding Academics and Community Involvement: This scholarship will be awarded to one college student and one high school senior or junior. Students need to submit the following: One page minimum essay covering student's academic achievements including overall GPA and current grade level, school extracurricular involvement and community involvement. Students also need to submit a reference letter from each of the following: teacher, counselor or school administrator, and an adult involved with student's contribution to the community. All information should be sent to head coach Jarrod Rogol at coachrogol@danvilledragons.com. The deadline to submit material will be April 1, 2012.
In addition, team representatives will be present at David S. Palmer Arena for the Kiwanis Pancake Day event October 20. The event will run from 6:0am-9:00pm.
The 2012 season for the Dragons opens March 1st, on the road against the Erie Explosion. On March 10, fans will have their first chance to see the Dragons at the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville as the Cincinnati Commandos visit. Ticket sales will start shortly and team merchandise is now ready for order at http://www.danvilledragons.com.
