Danville Dragons News Release
Dragon Nation,
This off-season has been an extremely trying time and recently it has become the most challenging time in my life. Currently there have been some rumors flying around the internet about the current standing of our team. I would like to take the time to inform you on where we are currently as a franchise. Three members of our coaching staff have departed with the Dragons organization; the Danville Dragons would like to wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and would like to thank them for all their hard work.
There have been rumors flying online saying that we have folded. This is simply not true. While we are still an organization we are in dire need of your support. At this time we are two weeks away from closing up shop. We need your support now more than ever. Please, allow me to squash any and all talk about the Danville Dragons being a reincarnation of our predecessors. The last indoor football organization to call the David S. Palmer Arena home has zero ties with the Danville Dragons. We have done everything in our power to try and show that we want to be quality members of the Danville community, not just a fly-by-night franchise. We want to become a staple in Danville much like the Danville Wings hockey team was in the nineties. We want to provide the same type of family friendly, fun and affordable entertainment to the Danville area, but we cannot do this without your support.
I am sending out this desperate plea to all of Danville and Vermilion County. Please, do not let YOUR Danville Dragons fail. We need fans to purchase season tickets and we need sponsors to hop on board with us. I understand that there is some resistance to do this based on past experiences with indoor football in Danville. But, I can assure you that we strive to be the best partners for our sponsors and will strive to put the best on-field product that we can. Our owner David Hawkins is open to anyone interested in purchasing sponsorship packages. You can find his contact information under the "Partners" tab above. I am now opening my door to any suggestions, interested parties or any words of encouragement. My email is coachfoster@danvilledragons.com and my direct line is 217-772-3100. The Danville Dragons is YOUR team; please do not let us fail, we are DRAGON NATION!
Sincerely,
Coach Logan Foster
