Danville Dragons News Release

DANVILLE, IL - The East Central Missouri Eagles of the Gridiron Developmental Football League has been named as the "Official Rookie Affiliate of the Danville Dragons."

2012 will mark the 6th season for the Eagles. The team is a non-profit organization which plays in the Gridiron Developmental Football League and consists of over 80+ teams from all over the United States and is growing.

"We are looking forward to a long lasting partnership with the Danville Dragons, which may open the doors for our players to move forward and continue their football careers," stated Eagles head coach Rob Slape.

In 2008, the Eagles earned the division championship. Home games for the 2012 season will be played in St. Peters, MO, at Brown Road Park, home to the Mid-Rivers Eagles youth football program.

The Tier-Three and Tier-Two Teams for the system will be announced soon. Players will be moved from level to level as is done in Major League Baseball.

"We are very excited to expand the Dragon's farm system today. One of our main focuses as an organization is to have players reach their potentials, and play at the highest level they can play while providing the tools to do this. We feel like this is a huge step in accomplishing that goal. We are looking forward to progressing players through the farm system and even further," stated Dragons general manager Michael Hawkins.
