Connecticut Whale News Release

The Whale played their first three-games-in-three days stint of the season this past weekend, and went 1-2-0-0. Springfield blanked the Whale 2-0 on Friday night in Springfield, in the second half of a home-and-home series between the two teams, but Connecticut rebounded in Worcester Saturday night, posting a 6-2 victory over the Sharks. On Sunday, in their first visit of the season to Bridgeport, the Whale jumped out to a 3-1 first-period lead, but the Sound Tigers then got the next three, on the way to handing the Whale a 4-3 defeat. Christian Thomas had his first multiple-goal game as a pro in Saturday's win, with two tallies, and Kris Newbury had a goal and two assists. Former Sound Tiger Micheal Haley scored his first two Whale goals Sunday in his return to his old stomping grounds.
