Westchester Knicks News Release
WHITE PLAINS, November 9, 2015 - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, defeated the Delaware 87ers in a lone preseason game at the Westchester County Center, the final score 115-90.
Making his second season presence known, Westchester Knicks forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, a member of Westchester's inaugural roster, started with a monster dunk early in the game. The 87ers led the way for the majority of the first quarter but Westchester took the lead with under two minutes to go and the two teams ended the quarter in a tie, 22-22.
The Knicks continued to pull ahead in the second half and the teams headed into the locker room with Westchester leading Delaware 62-46. Knicks forward DaJuan Summers led the teams in scoring after the first 24 minutes with 16 points.
Delaware would trail for the remainder of the game as the Knicks rode high in the second half. Westchester center Jordan Bachysnki lived up to his "Block-chynski" nickname protecting the rim throughout the night while his teammates continued to rack up the points.
DaJuan Summers finished with a game-high 20 points with Westchester forward Sean Marshall right behind with 19. Jordan Bachynski added an additional 14 points to the preseason stats sheet.
Forward Jordan McCrae led the way for Delaware, finishing the night with 18 points. Ladarius White added 16 points for the 86ers, with David Laury rounding out the top three with 14 points.
The Westchester Knicks tip-off the 2015-16 NBA Development League season this Thursday, Nov. 12 at the Westchester County Center, facing the Maine Red Claws at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on MSG 2 and YouTube.
