Westchester Knicks News Release
WHITE PLAINS, NY - The regular season Eastern Conference Champion Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell 92-80 to the Raptors 905, the Toronto Raptors' affiliate, in the single elimination NBA G League Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Knicks Two-Way player Isaiah Hicks notched a game-high 23 points with eight rebounds while Damyean Dotson, on assignment from the New York Knicks, poured in 20 points with five rebounds. Knicks affiliate Xavier Rathan-Mayes finished his season with a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists, falling just short of what would have been his fifth triple-double as he also had eight rebounds. Guard Billy Garrett provided 14 points from the bench.
Six members of the 905 scored in double-digits, led by Raptors Two-Way player Lorenzo Brown who had 18 with seven each of rebounds and assists. Center Kennedy Meeks posted a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds while forward Alfonzo McKinnie had one of 10 points and 11 rebounds. From the pine, Malachi Richardson and Shevon Thompson each had 14 points while Davion Berry finished with 10.
The Knicks jumped out to an 18-4 run to tip things off, the ride including 10 points from New York Knicks assignee Damyean Dotson. Westchester maintained its double-digit lead through the first nine minutes, but Raptors 905 went on an 11-3 run of its own to close the gap to three at the end of the first. Raptors 905 found its first lead just over three minutes into the second. Keeping it for the majority of the quarter, the visitors succumbed in the last two minutes as the Knicks tied it up, sneaking back into a one-point lead at the half off a jumper three from Westchester guard Billy Garrett.
Both teams struggled through the third, Raptors 905 managing just 19 points with the Knicks mustering up just 16. The score stayed within four points throughout the quarter with the advantage at the end of it going to the visitors. Though the fourth quarter began with a couple of back-and-forth possessions, the game was blown wide open by the Raptors 905 as the team outscored Westchester 26-16. Using a 10-2 run to close out the last five minutes of the game, Raptors 905 took the victory, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals.
