Westchester Knicks News Release

WHITE PLAINS, NY - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knickerbockers, will host special theme nights at the Westchester County Center on March 28 and 30. The team will host Go Green Night, presented by Affordable Carting on Monday, March 28, when they take on the Canton Charge at 7:00 p.m. and First Responders Night, presented by Hospital for Special Surgery, on Wednesday, March 30, when the team faces the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7:00 p.m.

In support of the league's NBA Green initiative, the Westchester Knicks will host Go Green Night, presented by Affordable Carting, on Monday, March 28. To encourage fans to make a difference in the environment, the first 50 fans that bring an item to recycle to the box office on game night will receive a ticket to Monday's game, courtesy of Affordable Carting.

As part of the special night, the Westchester Knicks will wear green customized jerseys featuring both Affordable Carting and Friends of Westchester County Parks logos. During the game, a silent auction featuring five signed Westchester Knicks jerseys will be held with proceeds from the auction going to Friends of Westchester County Parks. In addition, the Knicks encourage all fans to wear green to show support for the initiative.

To honor New York's finest, Westchester has partnered with Hospital for Special Surgery, the Official Hospital of the Westchester Knicks, to present First Responders Night on Wednesday, March 30. To give thanks to those who keep us safe every day, the first 50 First Responders to show up to the box office on game night will receive two free tickets, courtesy of Hospital for Special Surgery. Eligible First Responders include police, firefighters, paramedics, and EMT's who are at least 18 years of age and are able to show proof of valid employment.

During a pre-game ceremony, the team will present commemorative jerseys featuring the FDNY 343 and HSS patches to three members of the FDNY as well as Drs. Mark Drakos, Jo Hannafin and Brett Toresdahl, Sports Medicine Physicians at HSS. The team will hold a silent auction of five of the game-worn, signed jerseys with proceeds going to FDNY 343, a charitable foundation that honors and remembers the 343 FDNY members who lost their lives in the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001.
