Grand Rapids Drive News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich - When E.J. Singler was traded to the Raptors 905 two weeks ago, he got a jersey with No. 3 on the back. That number proved to be prophetic on Monday night.

Singler drained seven 3-pointers - all in the first half - and finished with 30 points as the Raptors beat the Grand Rapids Drive 136-105 at the DeltaPlex Arena.

The Raptors, who are the affiliate of the Toronto Raptors, improves to 21-27. The 136 points ties the most by the team this season. Grand Rapids, whose parent team is the Detroit Pistons, falls to 21-27.

Singler, a 6-foot-6 forward out of the University of Oregon, was 10-of-16 from the field. He was traded from the Idaho Stampede on March 4 for a future draft pick. His previous season high was 20, which he scored in the first game of the season.

Bruno Caboclo, a 6-foot-9 forward out of Brazil, had a game-high 31 points. He also had seven rebounds and five steals. Scott Suggs had 18, followed by Shannon Scott (12), Davion Berry (12) and Ashton Smith (11).

Dahntay Jones led Grand Rapids with 23 points and a season-high eight assists. He was followed by Kelsey Barlow (20), Devin Ebanks (13) and Ismael Romero (12). Kam Holsey had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Singler had 23 points at halftime as the Raptors led 74-51.

Barlow went up and over 7-foot-4 Sim Buhlar to give the Drive a 9-8 lead in the first quarter.

On a play during the end of the third quarter, the Drive's Bruce Massey was ejected from the game for a flagrant 2 foul and Berry was called for a technical foul.

Monday's game was originally scheduled for Jan. 24. But a snow storm on the East Coast kept the Raptors from flying out of New York - where they were playing the Westchester Knicks - to Grand Rapids. The two teams again match up on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. EST in Grand Rapids.
