Wendy's Becomes Title Sponsor

TORONTO – The Canadian Football League and TSN today announced the return of Wendy's as the title sponsor of the highly successful CFL Live and Friday Night Football shows on TSN, and as the "Official Hamburger of the CFL."

Wendy's CFL Live and Wendy's Friday Night Football return to TSN on the strength of spectacular growth in 2002 with audiences up 27% on TSN, gaining national momentum behind the CFL brand.

Desmond Edwards, Marketing Director for Wendy's stated, "We are thrilled to renew our association with the CFL, one of the great Canadian icons. We look forward to another exciting year of football in partnership with the CFL and TSN."

As an important League partner, Wendy's will support their involvement as the "Official Hamburger of the CFL" with a tie-in promotion with TSN along with print, radio and web site exposure on CFL.ca.

This marks the second consecutive year that Wendy's has been the title sponsor of the CFL on TSN and the third straight year the popular restaurant chain has been involved with TSN's CFL coverage.

TSN will televise 50 CFL games this year, as part of a new five-year agreement with the League. Wendy's CFL Live kicks off with the Season Opener on June 17 as the Montreal Alouettes begin defence of their Grey Cup title with a visit to Calgary to take on the Stampeders. TSN will televise Wendy's Friday Night Football every Friday night all season long, kicking off with a double-header on June 20 (Ottawa @ Hamilton, followed by Winnipeg @ B.C.).

TSN's On The Road with Wendy's Friday's Night Football road tour returns for a second season as TSN takes its popular CFL broadcast crew on the road to three CFL cities for a meet-and-greet and autograph session with fans at local Wendy's establishments.

TSN will support its 2003 CFL campaign with television spots, outdoor billboard and print ads, Internet and radio promotions (including the popular Wendy's Grey Cup Contest), and various public relations activities.
