Wenatchee Wild News Release
Wenatchee Wa, The Wild is proud to announce the newest addition to Wild organization - Chris Hansen. Chris will be doing double duty as both the voice for the radio broadcasting and public address announcer.
Hansen is the host and producer of "The Toast And Coffee Show", which airs weekdays on KWCC TV. He also plays host to "The Weekly Sports Report" which airs Saturday mornings on KWCC.
Hansen has been the public address announcer for the Wenatchee Apple Sox for the past three seasons and also served the Wenatchee Valley Rams in that capacity for 2008. He is the former voice of Entiat Tiger sports and has regularly performed spot duty for play-by-play broadcasts for a variety of high school sports, as well as for Wenatchee Valley College athletics.
In addition to his current hosting and sports credentials, Hansen has spent time as a disc jockey on over a half dozen stations in Washington State in the past ten years.
He is a lifelong lover of hockey and brings a fan educated knowledge and enthusiasm to the Wild's press box for the '08-'09 season.
"I can't express how excited I am to assume the role of play-by-play and arena announcer for the inaugural season of Wenatchee Wild hockey."
"It's been a dream of mine for many years to get the opportunity to call hockey on the airwaves, but to realize that ambition for a team in my own hometown is even sweeter."
"I look forward to the challenges ahead and to not only learning a great deal more about the game from a closer perspective, but also to helping a new legion of hockey fans in learning and enjoying this great sport", Chris Hansen.
