North Iowa Outlaws News Release
Mason City (IA) All the aspiring vocalists in the North Iowa region yearning for a chance to have their talents be discovered will no doubt want to take advantage of the latest opportunity presented by the North Iowa Outlaws Junior A hockey team. The team has announced they will be holding auditions for singers to perform the national anthem prior to the team's home games at the North Iowa Ice Arena during the 2008-2009 season.
The Outlaws will be holding auditions on Tuesday September 23rd at 6:30pm at the Mason City Holiday Inn. There is no charge, but those auditioning are being asked to perform the national anthem accapella style. Pre-registration isn't required, but is appreciated.
All age, as well as groups, as encouraged to audition.
Will performing the national anthem prior to an Outlaws game guarantee a multi-billion dollar record deal, along with fame and fortune for the singer? The Outlaws can't promise that, but there is always that chance someone with leverage in the music business could be in attendance, and at the very least a singer gets to perform in front of 800-1,000 members of their hometown fan club.
The Outlaws will begin the 2008-2009 season September 17-20 in Blaine, MN and the annual NAHL Showcase. Training camp is currently underway at the Albert Lea City Arena with daily practices from 10:30am-12:30pm.
The Outlaws play their first home game on Friday September 26th versus the expansion Owatonna Express at 7:30pm
The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.
