Outlaws Announce Dance Team Tryout Date

Mason City (IA) The upcoming North Iowa Outlaws' season will feature a variety of new twists, but undoubtedly the most noticeable will be the addition of a new dance team that will perform during the games and assist with promotions. The Outlaws have announced that tryouts for the dance team will be held Wednesday September 24th at 6pm at the Mason City Holiday Inn, with their being no charge to audition. Those auditioning should bring their own chorography and music to perform to.

Outlaws Dance Team coordinator Jami Hepperly, along with general manager Steve Strasheim and director of communications Scott Montesano will conduct the tryout.

Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and have prior dance or cheerleading experience. During games, performers will dance as a team on a mat placed on the ice, so the ability to skate is not required.

Performers will be paid on a per-game basis.

The Outlaws will begin the 2008-2009 season September 17-20 in Blaine, MN at the annual NAHL Showcase. Training camp is currently underway at the Albert Lea City Arena with daily practices from 10:30am-12:30pm.

The Outlaws play their first home game on Friday September 26th versus the expansion Owatonna Express at 7:30pm.

The North Iowa Outlaws Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 33nd year of operation. For more information, visit northiowaoutlaws.com or call (641) 424-5468.

Outlaws home games are played at the North Iowa Ice Arena in Mason City, IA. All games will be broadcasted on northiowaoutlaws.com and video broadcast through B/2 Network.
