RAPIDS TO HOST CHIVAS USA THIS SATURDAY: The Colorado Rapids host Chivas USA this Saturday at 7 p.m. MT at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City. Chivas is currently just one point ahead of the Rapids in the standings, and with just 10 games left for the Rapids, both teams will be eager to earn three points out of the matchup. The Coca-Cola Family Night package is available to fans, which includes 4 tickets, 4 meals, and 4 Coca-Cola products for just $49. FIRST ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BADGES THIS SATURDAY AFTER RAPIDS FACE CHIVAS USA: The Colorado Rapids have partnered with the City and County of Denver to host the 1st annual Battle of the Badges Charity Soccer Match between Denver Police and Denver Fire on Saturday, August 18 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The match will take place immediately after the Rapids take on Chivas USA at 7 p.m. MT, and a $25 ticket will give fans admission to both matches, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the team's charities, the Denver Police Orphan's Fund and Friends of the Denver Fire Department. RAPIDS RESERVES FACE CHICAGO FIRE RESERVES ON WEDNESDAY IN ILLINOIS: The Colorado Rapids Reserves will travel to Chicago, Ill. this week to take on the Chicago Fire Reserves at the TOYOTA Park practice field at 10 a.m. CT (9 a.m. MT). The Rapids Reserves currently sit in first place in the Central Division with a 5-2-1 record, and have just two games remaining this season. WILDLIFE EDUCATION NIGHT WITH THE COLORADO RAPIDS THIS SATURDAY: Wildlife Education Night with the Colorado Rapids takes place this Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park as the Rapids take on Chivas USA. Denver Zoo will have a booth on the concourse featuring live animals, artifacts and activities for ticketed fans from 6 p.m. until halftime. RAPIDS' THIRD ANNUAL CHARITY CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR SEPTEMBER 10: The Rapids' third annual Charity Classic, a golf tournament with Rapids players and coaches, will tee off on Monday, September 10 at The Club at Pradera in Parker, with all proceeds going to Kroenke Sports Charities. Spots are going quickly but are still available at $300 for individuals and $1000 for foursomes (which could also be three golfers and a Rapids player). NEXT RAPIDS HOME MATCH ON SEPTEMBER 5 AGAINST PORTLAND TIMBERS: On Wednesday, September 5, the Colorado Rapids will face the Portland Timbers for the second time in six days. They first face each other on August 31 in Portland, and then return to Dick's Sporting Goods Park on September 5. Both matches will be nationally broadcast on NBC Sports, and tickets are still available to the match in Colorado by calling 303-825-GOAL or visiting www.ColoradoRapids.com.
