CHIVAS USA TO FACE LOS ANGELES GALAXY IN SUPERCLÁSICO THIS SATURDAY: Coming off a big win against the New York Red Bulls, Chivas USA returns home this week for the first edition of this year's SuperClásico on Saturday, May 21st, at 7:00 pm. PT. The rivalry match against the Los Angeles Galaxy's David Beckham, Landon Donovan, and Juan Pablo Angel is the biggest home game of the year for the Red-and-White, who will be looking to keep their positive momentum going. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and W Radio 690 AM. RED-AND-WHITE RECORD IMPRESSIVE WIN AGAINST EASTERN CONFRENCE LEADING RED BULLS: Three goals from striker Justin Braun were enough to cancel out a Thierry Henry strike and Dwyane De Rosario penalty as Chivas USA triumphed 3-2 in New York. The win gave the Red-and-White a number of accomplishments, making them the first team to beat New York in Red Bull Arena this season, as well as the first club to travel coast-to-coast and win a game on the road. BRAUN'S HAT-TRICK: Braun scored his season opening goal in the sixth minute against NYRB, but that was just the beginning. With his three goals against the Red Bulls, Justin Braun recorded the first hat-trick in his career, the first hat-trick in Red Bull Arena, and the first hat-trick in Chivas USA team history. The three goals put Braun into a tie with Alejandro Moreno for the team lead in goals this season. The 24-year-old Braun also moved up the historical Chivas USA goal table, where his 19 Red-and-White goals trail only team legend Ante Razov who has 30. For his outstanding game Braun was named MLS Player of the Week in Week 9, and his opening goal was nominated for Goal of the Week.

ACADEMY PRODUCT CHRIS CORTEZ SIGNS WITH CHIVAS USA, MAKES HIS DEBUT: Chivas USA announced on Sunday the signing of youth product Chris Cortez, a California-native and a forward who has played with the U-18 team in the Chivas USA Youth Academy system. Cortez, a Mexican American from Mission Viejo, Calif. has participated with the Red-and-White in preseason matches and also in the Reserve League where he has tallied 3 goals for the Red-and-White. He made his first team debut in Sunday's match against the Red Bull, entering as a 69th minute substitute.

YOUTH TEAM TRYOUTS COMING UP IN BELL GARDENS AND SIMI VALLEY: Chivas USA will be holding 'Sangre Nueva' Youth Team tryouts coming up this summer at a pair of locations in Southern California. First is a tryout in Bell Gardens on June 3, followed by another tryout in Simi Valley on July 23. Chivas USA coaching staff members will be in attendance at each of these events to assess and evaluate the entire player pool with the goal of finding players for the Chivas USA Youth Teams.
