ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the second full week of the 2004-2005 regular season with a 4-1-1-0 record (2-0-1-0 at home, 2-1-0-0 on the road, 0-0-1-0 in overtime) and in first place in the BC DIVISION...KOOTENAY will play six of their next seven games at the CRANBROOK REC PLEX.

ROSTER UPDATE: THE ICE have 23 players on their roster, including two goalies, eight defensemen and 13 forwards...KOOTENAY has 15 returning players on their roster from the 2003-2004 season...Of the remaining eight players, three were acquired by trade, one was drafted in the CHL IMPORT DRAFT, two were listed and two were drafted in the WHL BANTAM DRAFT.

DID YOU KNOW: For the first time in franchise history, the ICE recorded shutouts in three straight games (September 28 in VANCOUVER, September 29 in KELOWNA and October 1 versus LETHBRIDGE)...The shutout streak lasted 247 minutes and 20 seconds (13:38 of the second period on September 25 to 00:58 of the third period on October 2)...JEFF GLASS recorded his tenth and eleventh career shutouts in VANCOUVER (20 saves) and KELOWNA (31 saves)...TAYLOR DAKERS recorded his second career WHL shutout October 1 at home against LETHBRIDGE (24 saves)...NIGEL DAWES, who needs 14 goals to become the all-time franchise leader in career goals scored, recorded his 200th career WHL point September 29 in KELOWNA...ADAM TAYLOR, who is second in career games played with 258, has played in 223 consecutive regular season games...TAYLOR needs two goals to reach 50 in his WHL career... ROMAN POLAK recorded his first career WHL point (assist) in VANCOUVER...MARTIN SAGAT needs one point to reach 50 in his WHL career.

TRANSACTION: Forward MIKE BOXMA (May 23, 1986) has left the team on his own accord and has returned home to EDSON, ALBERTA.

SCORING STREAKS: NIGEL DAWES (2-4-6) and MARTIN SAGAT (1-5-6) have each recorded at least one point in each of their last five games...ADAM TAYLOR (3-1-4) and CASEY LEE (2-1-3) have both recorded at least one point in each of their last three games.

ONE YEAR AGO: After six games of the 2003-2004 season the ICE were 3-1-1-1, after seven games 3-1-1-2 and after eight games 4-1-1-2.
