
Weekend sweep has IceHogs rolling

Rockford IceHogs News Release
The Rockford IceHogs are starting to find its stride, winning both of its contests during Week 4 of the 2006-07 United Hockey League season. Rockford has won three straight overall and completed its second round of games through the Western Conference with a 5-3-0 record. The Hogs continue its 76-game regular season schedule this weekend in Port Huron and Muskegon.

-Erick Lizon (RW) Activated from 7-Day IR on Saturday, Nov. 4
-Mike Doyle (LW) Placed on 7-Day IR on Saturday, Nov. 4
-Tim Wedderburn (D) Re-assigned from Chicago (AHL) on Friday, Nov. 3
-Bryce Cockburn (RW) Moved from 21-Day IR to non-roster spot on Friday, Nov. 3

Bacon Bits:
Goalie Frederic Cloutier has won four straight starts for Rockford and during his hot stretch he has a goals against average of 2.25 and save percentage of .931.
Winger Jesse Bennefield leads the IceHogs in assists (7), points (12) shots on goal (36), multi-point games (4) and is tied with Chaz Johnson for the club lead in goals (5).
All of Rockford's eight games have been against the Western Conference thus far. The Hogs have played each Western Conference opponent twice.
The IceHogs will play its first game against the Eastern Conference this week at Port Huron.
Defenseman Matt Gens has a point in five of his past six games. During his hot stretch, Gens has 2g-5a-7pts.
Winger Bruce Watson moved into sole possession of 11th place on the UHL's all-time penalty minute list with 1,359 PIM's.
Watson is the IceHogs all-time PIM's leader with 293 career PIM's.
Center Preston Mizzi netted three goals over the weekend and tied with former IceHogs winger Steve Dumonski for fifth on the Hogs all-time goal-scoring list with 41 goals.
Mizzi also scored a power-play marker on Friday, moving him into first on the IceHogs all-time power-play goal list with 18.
Rockford was outshot in a game for the first time this season on Saturday when the Mallards outshot them 45-33.
In Rockford's five wins, the Hogs have outscored its opponents 9-3 in the third period.
Hot Hog Week 4:
Center Preston Mizzi made his return last week and it didn't take long for the IceHogs to feel his presence. Mizzi netted three goals and added an assist over the weekend, including a clutch game-winning goal on Saturday in Quad City with less than 2:30 remaining in regulation.
Upcoming Games:
Friday, Nov. 10 at Port Huron Flags. The road trip continues at 6:30 p.m. The IceHogs face-off against an Eastern Confernce foe for the first time this season when they travel to the McMorran Place Arena in Port Huron, Mich. The trip is the first of two to Michigan's northeast bay.
Saturday, Nov. 11 at Muskegon Fury. The showdown starts st 6:30 p.m. No team in the UHL"Ëhas gotten off to a better start than the Muskegon Fury. Rockford will conlcude its early season road swing in Muskegon on Saturday in the teams first of seven meetings in 2006-07.

Bud Light HogTalk returns this week to Shooter's North located at 7742 Forest Hills Road in Loves Park from 7-8 p.m. WXRX's Jim Stone and Double T host the weekly show and this week they will be joined by IceHogs skaters Jarad Bourassa and Brenden Cuthbert.
