Minot Minotauros News Release
Minot, ND - The Minotauros host the St. Cloud Norsemen in a rare Sunday tilt on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena. The Tauros should come in well rested having had Friday and Saturday nights off and not having left North Dakota since the NAHL Showcase in mid-September. St. Cloud meanwhile comes in off of a pair of games in Bismarck Friday and Saturday. Friday was a 3-2 loss for St. Cloud in Bismarck and are playing in Bismarck again tonight at the time of this writing.
The Tauros meanwhile come in off of a pair of weekend splits first with North Iowa and then with Bismarck. The Tauro power play has been potent so far this season scoring on an even 1/3 of their chances. And the power play has been a good indicator of the team's overall success as the Tauros are 4-1-0 when scoring a power play goal and 0-3-0 when they do not. The man advantage has been balanced as well, with the Tauros getting nine power play goals from eight different scorers so far.
As for St. Cloud starts have been an issue so far with the Norsemen getting outscored 11-4 in first periods. A trend that has continued this weekend so far in Bismarck as the Cats outscored St. Cloud 4-1 combined in the two first periods. Despite the struggles early in games the Norsemen have battled two a 4-4-1 record pending the outcome of Saturday night's game in Bismarck (Bismarck leads 3-2 in the third at the time of this writing). Regardless of the outcome the Norsemen will take the ice Sunday ahead of the Tauros in the standings.
The Circle Sanitation "Fill the Bin" coat drive is still going, fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used winter clothing item to donate to those in need in the Minot area. Tickets for Sunday's game can be purchased here or through the "Tickets" tab atop this page.
