Amarillo Bulls News Release

SHREVEPORT, LA - One of the hottest teams in the North American Hockey League looks to extend its unbeaten streak this weekend.

The Amarillo Bulls visit the Shreveport Mudbugs for a pair of games at George's Pond Hirsch Coliseum beginning tomorrow (Friday) night and continuing Saturday at 7:11 pm. Tune into the action live on 107.1 Nash Icon, www.amarillobulls.com/listen and on PPV with Hockey TV beginning with the Fit Omni Warm Up Show at 6:45 pm. The voice of the Bulls Denis J. Puska has the hard hitting action to follow.

The Bulls have not suffered a regulation loss in their last 9 games (6-0-2-1), and have the second best streak to only the Johnstown Tomahawks that have won 15 in a row. The South Division standings have the rest of the teams seeing red as the Bulls own a six-point advantage over the Lone Star Brahmas and the Topeka Pilots.

The first six meetings of the season between the Bulls and the Mudbugs have certainly provided with a lot of fireworks and plenty of excitement. Amarillo has a mark of 3-2-0-1 in their first six match-ups, including wins in three of it's last four.

Rocky Russo's charges took three out of a possible four points last weekend in Odessa versus the Jackalopes with a 3-2 triumph and a 5-4 overtime set back. Logan Jenuwine captured the South Division player of the week for his heroics in the games as he continued his torrid play. Jenuwine has a goal scoring streak of six goals in his last five games. The Bulls are the second least penalized team in the NAHL, while the Mudbugs lead the league with over 24 minutes per game. The Bulls have fired 30 first period goals this season, while the Mudbugs have been outscored by six 21-15. However, Shreveport is strong in the second period outgunning it's opponents 28-15.

The Mudbugs travelled to Topeka last weekend where they split games winning 3-1 but falling late 4-3.

There are two other games going on in the South Division this weekend as the Topeka Pilots entertain the Springfield Jr. Blues, while the Lone Star Brahmas head west to Ector County Coliseum to meet the Odessa Jackalopes.

Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday, Dec. 7 and Saturday December 8 when the Bulls host the Lone Star Brahmas at 7 pm. Friday is the arrival of the Grinch and Saturday it's the Toys For Tots Teddy Bear Toss. Tickets are available at the Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket locations including United Supermarkets or online at www.amarillobulls.com/tickets or www.panhandletickets.com.
