You most likely have heard by now that the IceRays will be doing some fun holiday things for our upcoming game on Saturday, December 8.
First of all, the fun begins early with a special pre-game public skating session. The American Bank Center Arena ice will be open from 1:00 - 4:30 PM, and skating costs $12.
The big fun will happen at game-time, as we are excited to be doing a "Teddy Bear Toss" that night. We encourage you and all fans to bring a Teddy Bear or other plush toy to the game with you. When the IceRays score their first goal, you will be encouraged to celebrate by tossing the toy on to the ice. SMG and IceRays staff will collect the toys and we will donate them to several different organizations around the coastal bend. (Currently that list includes Hope House, Purple Door (formerly Women's Shelter of Corpus Christi), CASA, Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House and others. We are continuing to expand the list, so if you have an organization that you work with that could pass on Teddy Bears or other plush toys to children in need, let us know so we can reach out to them.
We are offering a great incentive to all fans who bring their Teddy Bears to the game. Anyone who shows their bear at the IceRays table on the main concourse can register for a drawing for a Suite night for a later IceRays game.
The IceRays will be supplying a limited number of Teddy Bears for people who forgot to bring them. If you would like to contribute a few Teddy Bears or plush toys to this effort, you may do so by bringing them to the IceRays office during regular office hours. We'll add another entry into the drawing for anyone who donates a Teddy Bear or plush toy to this effort. (These bears will be available at the IceRays table on the concourse. There will be a suggested donation of $3 to get one. Proceeds from this effort will also be spread around to the local organizations listed above.)

Lastly, the night will feature an "Ugly Christmas Sweater" contest. The winner will receive the admiration of all their friends as well as a special IceRays swag bag.
