Oshawa, ON-The Gens travelled to two road games this weekend to get a taste of the first preseason action of the 2018-19 season. Find full recaps below!
Friday, August 31st-Preseason Away Game 1
OSHAWA 4, MISSISSAUGA 1
The Oshawa Generals climbed out to a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes before holding on to defeat the Mississauga Steelheads 4-1 on the road. Eric Henderson, Kyle MacLean, Mitchell Hewitson and Allan McShane provided goals while Boston Bruins prospect Kyle Keyser stopped 27 of 28. Blueliner Ryan Barbosa scored the lone goal for the Steelheads while rookie Joe Ranger made 24 saves in goal.

Sunday, September 2nd-Preseason Away Game 2
PETERBOROUGH 6, OSHAWA 5 - SO
A back-and-forth matchup between two rivals ended with the home side scoring a 6-5 shootout win. The Peterborough Petes emerged victorious in a chippy affair with the Oshawa Generals as Brady Hinz netted the fifth round shootout winner. Down 4-2 after two, the Petes turned things on in the third as Semyon Der-Arguchintsev, Adam Timleck and Hinz scored three times in six minutes to give the Petes a 5-4 edge. Generals newcomer Nando Eggenberger completed a hat-trick with 1:23 left in the third period to force a shootout. Peterborough netminder Hunter Jones stopped all five shooters he faced to backstop the Petes to victory. Zach Gallant and Pavel Gogolev added Peterborough goals while Jack Studnicka and Allan McShane also scored for the Generals as they were outshot 39-25.
GAME CENTRE
The Generals will play a total of four exhibition games to start the 2018-2019 season. Two of these games are considered home games and will take place in other cities within Durham Region as the Gens bring their hockey talent to the community. Tickets for the exhibition games can be purchased at the Tribute Communities Centre Box Office for $15 (cash only).
Saturday, September 15th vs. Mississauga Steelheads at 6:00pm - Ajax Community Centre
Sunday, September 16th vs. Peterborough Petes at 6:00pm - Scugog Arena
The Generals open the 2018-19 season on the road Friday, September 21st against the Kingston Frontenacs. The first time the Generals will be at home this season for our Ontario Motor Sales Home Opener will be Sunday, September 30th when the North Bay Battalion come to town.
