
Week Three Game Preview: Jacksonville vs. Orlando

JACKSONVILLE - After a 2020 arena football hiatus the Jacksonville Sharks are back in action, the Sharks kickoff the season at home this Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Arena. The Sharks will play host to their in-state rival the Orlando Predators. The last time the Sharks played their in-state rival the Orlando Predators in 2019 they had a record-breaking 85-30 victory which was the most points scored in a game in team history. Kickoff is set for 7pm.
The Predators will enter the Sharks Tank with new head coach Ben Bennett who is currently 0-1 with Orlando after their 55-40 loss on the road in Columbus. In that game Predators quarterback Bryan Hicks threw 21 passes for 195 yards and 5 touchdowns against the Lions but did throw an interception in the season opener. Defensively, the Predators sacked Lions quarterback Mason Epinosa twice, gained an interception, forced a fumble and added four pass breakups.
Returning to the Shark tank will be Jacksonville's quarterback Mike Fafaul who helped the Sharks to their championship victory in 2019 while leading the league in pass efficiency (67.1) he will be joined by his star target All-NAL receiver Devin Wilson who played for the Sharks in 2019 who amassed 32 regular season touchdown. Overall the Sharks have several returning players from the championship roster including: Alstevis Squirewell, Damien Jacobs, Derrick Zeigler, Jabari Buckley, Jonathan Taylor, Keith Bowers, Mike Williams, MIke Fafaul and Zach Brown.
The Sharks home opener Saturday, June 12th at 7 p.m will be Country Night / Education Appreciation Night presented by IDEA Public Schools.
