Week Thirteen Preview: Billings Outlaws

FORT COLLINS, Colo. - After their second and final bye week, the Colorado Ice (5-5) will travel to Billings this Sunday, June 17, to take on the Outlaws (5-4) for the third time this season. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. MT at MetraPark. Each team owns a victory over the other on home turf.

The Ice defeated the Outlaws 26-25 at Budweiser Events Center for their inaugural home season opener on March 23, but dropped their May 11 meeting in Billings by a 42-33 decision. Kicker Deric Yaussi's last minute field goal pushed the Ice to victory in game one. Running back Eugene Reed put up a season high 132 net rushing yards that earned him UIF Player of the Week honors for week one. WR Justin Gallas went down with a knee injury at the end of the third quarter of game one. He had two catches for 19 yards and a score. Additionally, he returned one missed field goal for 27 yards and two kickoffs for 71 yards.

Billings tallied 249 yards of total offense to beat the Ice in game eight. Running backs Reed and Ryan Drinkwater each made it to the end zone for a score. Quarterback Matt Gutierrez was 21-33 for 153 yards and two touchdowns, both to wide receiver Tim Pope who recorded 64 yards.

Billings is coming off a 43-13 home win over the Omaha Beef in week twelve. The Outlaws put up 264 total offensive yards and 17 first downs to defeat the Beef. Quarterback Chris Dixon was 9-15 for 116 yards and three touchdowns against Omaha. Wide receiver Robert Reed put up 42 yards and two scores on two catches.

Game Notes:

Colorado opened their inaugural season with a home opener on March 23 with a 26-25 win over the Outlaws.

Colorado is 1-1 against Billings this season.

Colorado is 3-0 when leading after the first quarter of play.

The team's 152 net yards passing in game eight is their single-game season high.

Game eleven is the start of a three-game road trip for the Ice. They will face the Bloomington Extreme for the first time on June 23 at 7:05 p.m. CT and the Sioux Falls Storm for their third and final match up of the regular season on June 30 at 7:05 p.m. CT. Colorado will return home to host the Sioux City Bandits and the Omaha Beef for the final two regular season games on July 7 and July 14, respectively. Kickoffs for both games are set for 7:05 p.m. MT at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo.
