Huntsville Havoc News Release
The Huntsville Havoc took five of a possible six points this past weekend with a 5-2 win over Richmond on Thursday, a 3-2 overtime loss at Jacksonville on Friday and a 3-2 overtime win over Knoxville at home Saturday night.
Thursday, November 23 - Richmond 2, Huntsville 5
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Tristan Senior scored two goals and Matt Carmichael made 30 saves as the Huntsville Havoc cruised past the Richmond Renegades 5-2 on Thanksgiving night.
James Patterson, Craig Bushey and Dan Buccella also found the back of the net for the Havoc. Tim Hockley had two assists while Bushey, Trevor Karasiewicz, Kelly Miller, Martin Kubaliak and Travis Kauffeldt all had one assist each.
Huntsville was 1-7 on the powerplay while Richmond was 1-5. Richmond accumulated 90 penalty minutes on 20 whistles including four game-misconducts.
Friday, November 24 - Huntsville 2, Jacksonville 3, OT
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jim Murphy scored with 1:53 left in the overtime period lifting the Jacksonville Barracudas to a 3-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc Friday night.
Jacksonville took an early 1-0 lead on Ryan Thompson's second goal of the season just 1: 34 into the game.
Huntsville responded two minutes later when James Patterson scored with an assist from Trevor Karasiewicz.
Patterson returned the favor in the second period and assisted on Karasiewicz's third goal of the season. The Havoc would take a 2-1 lead into the third period.
Jason Cassells tied the game at 2-2 with 16:01 left in the game. Nick Niedert got the start for the Havoc and played well stopping 27shots.
Saturday, November 25 - Knoxville 2, Huntsville 3, OT
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Martin Kubaliak scored with 2:47 left in overtime lifting the Huntsville Havoc to a 3-2 win over the Knoxville Ice Bears Saturday night in front of 3,784 fans.
Bob Rangus put Knoxville on the board with 11:57 left in the second with a short-handed goal. Tristan Senior tied the game :40 later when he found the back of the net with Craig Bushey with an assist.
Kubaliak gave the Havoc a 2-1 lead with a powerplay goal at the 13:36 mark of the second period. Mike Tuomi tied the game at 2-2 on a 5-on-3 with :10 left in the period.
The two teams were whistled for only 14 penalty minutes each and both teams were 1-7 on the powerplay.
Matt Carmichael got the win stopping 27 shots. Ervins Mustukovs also stopped 27. The two teams are now tied atop the SPHL standings with 17 points each.
