Week 5 Preview: Blizzard Travel to San Diego

March 21, 2019 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Green Bay Blizzard News Release

The Green Bay Blizzard (1-2) return from their first bye week as they prepare to hit the road and travel to San Diego California to take on the expansion Strike Force this Sunday night at 7:05 pm.

The Strike Force are currently (0-3) but have played well in their first 3 games. Opening week end they lost to the Quad City Steamwheelers in Moline 67 to 49. Their home opener the following week was another relatively close game as they lost to the Tucson Sugar Skulls 65 to 44. They also lost their second home game to the Cedar Rapids River Kings 65 to 48.

The Strike Force are led by quarterback Derrick Bernard who leads the league in passing yards and is second in passing TD's. The Strike Force passes the ball 3 times more then they run with 97 passes in 3 games but only 34 rushes. Defensively they are led by defensive back Kenric Young with 19 tackles.

The Blizzard are hoping to bounce back from a tough road loss to the defending IFL Champs the Iowa Barnstormers. Blizzard quarterback Lenorris Footman is second in the league in rushing yards per game and 5th in league in rushing touchdowns. San Diego is last in the league in points given up, so the Blizzard offence will look to find their rhythm early and stay aggressive.

The Blizzard defense is led by Marquez Gollman who is tied for first in the IFL in interceptions and 6th in the league for solo tackles. Marques and the rest of the defensive backfield will have a busy night if the Strike Force continues their trend of throwing the ball almost 75% of the time.

Sunday Night's game can be watched for FREE on YouTube Live and begins at 7:05CDT. Game Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9L9Q5zhh80
