Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
With the âCoaches Show' now in full effect, the second week of the show will take place tonight at Lumpy's Bar and Grill (located at 1509 North Harrison Street in Davenport, Iowa). The âVoice of the Deuce' Jim Albracht will host the weekly show, which airs on KFXN AM 1230 from 7:00-8:00 p.m., and will be joined by Steamwheelers players and head coach Rich Ingold.
This week QB Tony Zimmerman and K Paul Savich will join Ingold and Albracht on this week's edition of the show. Zimmerman who was 15-of-27 for 280 yards, six for touchdowns, while rushing six times for a net of three yards and two touchdowns led the âWheelers to a 64-55 victory over the Green Bay Blizzard last Friday night at The MARK of the Quad Cities.
Savich, who was in his first game as a Steamwheelers player, went eight for eight on point after touchdowns, earning himself Game MVP honors, something that no other kicker has done in Steamwheelers history. He was also the first Steamwheelers kicker to go eight for eight from PAT land. The only other âWheelers kicker to be perfect in a game was Rich Ehmke, who was six for six in his second game as a âWheeler against Bakersfield.
During the one-hour show, Albracht will talk about last week's victory over the Blizzard as well as look ahead to the next week's game vs. the 4-3 Louisville Fire. That game will take place at Freedom Hall (16,154) in Louisville, Ky. this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.
Next week, the show will take place on Tuesday (due to the Monday holiday) at Big Papa's Palace (East Moline, Ill.), with the Monday, June 2nd show to take place at The Captain's Table (Moline, Ill.).
