Former af2 Players Make AFL All-Rookie

CHICAGO - Orlando Predators OL/DL E.J. BURT, who recorded an af2 record 27.5 sacks during the 2002 season with the Cape Fear Wildcats, highlights the list of former af2 players selected to the AFL's 2003 All-Rookie team. Joining Burt on the list of 11 All-Rookie selections is OL/DL BRYAN HENDERSON, WR/DB WILL PETTIS, DS JERMAINE JONES and K KEITH GISPERT.
"I am pleased to see our stars making an impact at the next level," said af2 Executive Director JAY MARCUS. "Their success is only going to open more doors for our players in the future."

The AFL plans to announce the Rookie of the Year on Wednesday, May 28. Often recognized as one of the nation's most affordable and fan-friendly sports leagues, the Arena Football League is in the heart of its Drive to ArenaBowl XVII. The playoffs begin on May 24 with all games, including ArenaBowl XVII on June 22, being televised by NBC.
In Week 9 of its fourth season, af2 serves as a grassroots, developmental indoor football league for players, coaches and officials with teams in small- to mid-size markets throughout the United States. af2 operates under the same Mission Statement and Fans' Bill of Rights as the AFL.
