Week 14 Preview
January 5, 2023 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Fargo Force News Release
The Force are hitting the road to Lincoln this weekend after coming off of a dominant 3 game sweep at home last week vs Des Moines.
Kyle Smolen and Joe Palodichuk have been named the USHL Forward of the Week and Defenseman of the Week. Smolen with 4 goals and 3 assists in the series, and Palodichuk with 2 goal and 3 assists.
With Matej Marinov still away for the World Juniors, goaltender Anton Castro will look to get a couple more wins. Last weekend, Castro started all 3 games for the Force, tallying 3 wins, and averaging a .930 save percentage on 69 shots faced.
Coming off of a hot finish to 2022, the Force look to start off strong in 2023 on January 6th and 7th in Lincoln. The last time the Force played the Stars they split the series and the Force snapped Lincoln's 6 game win streak.
Currently the Force are on a 6 game win streak and are first in the Western Conference. The Stars are second in the conference and 8 points behind the Force making this an important series for both teams.
