WCRN to Broadcast Tornadoes Games in 2010

Worcester, MA May 10, 2010 -- The Worcester Tornadoes have announced that all 94 regular season game broadcasts will be heard on WCRN True Talk 830 AM in 2010.

"I am very excited to continue our partnership with WCRN for the upcoming season. We have a wide fan base throughout Worcester County, and this partnership will allow our fans to tune in to a station that has a great reach with 50,000 watts," said Jorg Bassiacos, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Worcester Tornadoes.

WCRN will carry all 94 regular season games, and any potential Can Am League playoff games involving the Tornadoes. All broadcasts can also be heard online at www.wcrnradio.com. The radio station is

the home of radio personalities Hank Stolz, Peter Blute, Barry Armstrong, Laura Ingraham, and Howie Carr.

"WCRN is excited to be the broadcasting partner of the Worcester Tornadoes this season. The Tornadoes bring a lot to the community both in being our local baseball team as well as a tremendous commitment to Worcester and the surrounding towns. We look forward to a great season," said WCRN General Manager, Chris Thompson.

The Tornadoes will also have broadcaster Peter Sachs back in the booth for their 6th season. This is Sachs' second year in providing play-by-play for the Tornadoes. He is a 2009 graduate of Ithaca College, where he provided play-by-play for baseball, softball, and basketball on WICB-FM. He's also worked for FOX Sports in Los Angeles and provided fill-in color commentary on Tornadoes broadcasts during the 2007 season.
