WCL all-league teams and awards for 2012

Mitchell Gunsolus is the West Coast League MVP and first-team third baseman. Tyler Kane was selected as the first-team relief pitcher and Ed Knaggs is Coach of the Year. On the second team are Taylor Sparks as a utility player, Derek Callahan a starting pitcher and Stephen Ventimilia in a tie for second base. This the fourth time Knaggs has received Coach of the Year honors...2005, 2009 (tie) and 2010.
Gunsolus is the third Wenatchee player to earn MVP honors. Jason Freeman received the award in 2002 in the Pacific International League, and Steve Marquardt in 2005 in the initial year of the West Coast League.
Thirty-three players were named to the first and second teams. Klamath Falls had the most at 7, followed by Wenatchee 5, Kelowna 5, Bellingham 4, Bend 4, Cowlitz 4. Corvallis 3, Walla Walla 1 and Kitsap none. There were no repeats form 2011 all-league teams.
In 13 seasons 72 AppleSox have made all-league teams, 40 first team and 32 second.
