ODESSA, TX. The Odessa Roughnecks are please to announce today, the return of one of the team's most effective players in it's short history. Wide Receiver Wayne Thomas re-joins the team one game in to the 2005 campaign. The 6' 2", 200 lbs. athlete is just in time to study new play books and grab a seat on the team's bus as it pulls out for Lincoln, Nebraska on Wednesday, where the Roughnecks take on the Capitols this Friday night.

"He was a tremendous contributor last season and I am very impressed with his physical condition as he returns." commented head coach Chris Williams. Thomas joined the Roughnecks just after the half-way point of the 2004 season. He caught 20 passes for 445 yards tallying 5 touchdowns and establishing himself as a clutch player. In addition, the wide receiver returned 3 kickoffs for touchdowns, more than any other player on the 2004 roster. Prior to his time in Odessa, Thomas was the all-time leading scorer in the Arena Football2 while playing for the Birmingham Steeldogs from 2000-2003.

The media should look for an announcement tomorrow related to the team's new local celebrity radio broadcaster who will be on the air by this Friday's game in Lincoln. For tickets call (432) 332-PASS (7277) or by log onto the team's website at www.RoughnecksNIFL.com.
