Up Close and Personal with Keith Tozer: Don't miss The Keith Tozer Show on Time Warner Cable Channel 32. The show consists of interviews with Milwaukee Wave players, information about upcoming games and of course, the star of the show ... Keith Tozer!

Last Week's Outings:

MILWAUKEE (Dec. 31, 2007) -- The Detroit Ignition scored three goals in the final five minutes of the first half and held on for a 10-4 victory over the Milwaukee Wave in the annual New Year's Eve game Monday at U.S. Cellular Arena in front of 5,072 fans.

Detroit (8-3) moved into first place with Chicago and New Jersey; the Wave fell to 7-4 and are fourth, just a half-game ahead of California (6-4).

The last of the three goals happened with just 8 seconds remaining in the second quarter, when Nick Vorberg came far out to challenge Worteh Sampson, who was breaking away on the counterattack. Vorberg was called for a penalty, and Ricardinho converted the resulting shootout against Troy Dusosky. That made the score 8-2.

"For the most part, I thought we played well in the second quarter," said Wave coach Keith Tozer. "I thought we played well in the first quarter."

Joe Di Buono's volley from the right corner with 12:24 remaining in the third quarter pulled the Wave within 8-4, but that would be their last goal in their lowest offensive output of the season. Joe Hammes came on as the sixth attacker with 6:10 remaining, after Jonathan Greenfield scored a counter-attack goal to make it 10-4.

The Wave also failed to convert either of their power plays. Detroit leads in the league in penalty kills.

Greg Howes scored the Wave's other goal, giving him 40 points for the season. He trails Monterrey's Dino Delevski by one point in the MISL scoring race. Marcio Leite was held without a point.

Pele signs Harley-Davidson Bike for Wave

So why did Pele put an upside-down signature on the Milwaukee Wave of Kindness Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 XL?

Widely considered the greatest soccer player of all time, Pele was known for his dazzling bicycle kicks ... which require him to leap and flip himself upside down before whipping the ball over his head. So Pele made his legend upside down. It's only fitting the signature matches.

The signature was applied to the black side cover of the custom-painted 2008 Harley-Davidson on Saturday, Dec. 1, when Pele was in New Jersey for the home debut of the Major Indoor Soccer League expansion franchise New Jersey Ironmen. It joins those of Olympic gold medalist Bonnie Blair, Packers legends Fuzzy Thurston and Gilbert Brown and Wave coach Keith Tozer.

Raffle tickets will be sold all year long for the bike at Wave games and at www.milwaukeewave.com. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Signatures will be added throughout the winter and the Harley will appear at different venues throughout southeastern Wisconsin, as well as at all Wave games.

Proceeds will benefit Milwaukee Wave of Kindness, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing soccer among inner-city youth. Wave of Kindness provides clinics, camp scholarships, game tickets and other programs.

Fox Soccer Channel: The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Fox Soccer Channel announced the "Game of the Week" telecast schedule for the 2007-08 season ... the 20-game schedule - the most comprehensive national television coverage in the league's seven-year history - features all U.S.-based MISL teams appearing at least four times ... most matches will air live on Fridays during the 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. CST broadcast window.
