(Southfield, Mich., January 2, 2008) - The Detroit Ignition (8-3) will host the California Cougars (6-4) Friday night at Compuware Arena. The game will feature Detroit Lions' wide receiver Mike Furrey as honorary captain, who will kick out the ceremonial first ball.

January 4, 2008: Detroit Ignition (7-3) vs. California Cougars (6-3)
The Detroit Ignition will host the California Cougars on Friday, January 4 at 7:35 pm. The two clubs last met on November 17 in Stockton, where the Ignition defeated the Cougars 16-13. California defender Ryan Hall ranks third in the MISL in blocks with 25 so far this season.
January 5, 2008: Detroit Ignition (7-3) at New Jersey Ironmen (8-3)
The Detroit Ignition will travel to Newark on Saturday, December 5 to take on the expansion New Jersey Ironmen. The Ignition have posted an 0-2 record against the Ironmen so far this season. Ironmen forward Mauricio Salles, a former Ignition player, scored a hat trick in the Ironmen's 24-15 victory over the California Cougars on December 30.

December 31, 2007 Ignition, 10 Wave, 4 - The Detroit Ignition (8-3) entered a three-way tie for first place in the Major Indoor Soccer League with a 10-4 victory over the Milwaukee Wave (7-4) Monday afternoon.
Ignition forward Jamar Beasley scored the first points of the match at 3:16 in the first quarter with a two-point goal assisted by goalkeeper Danny Waltman. Greg Howes notched his own two-point goal at 10:39 to tie the clubs up at two as the first quarter came to a close.
The Ignition scored six unanswered points in the second quarter, as Ze Roberto, Hewerton and Ricardinho all scored two-point goals.
Wave defender Joe Di Buono scored two points in the third quarter, but Ignition defender Jonathan Greenfield notched a two-point goal for Detroit in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 10-4.
