
KiXX sign rookie Sammy Castellanos

Philadelphia, PA, January 2, 2008 - The defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Philadelphia KiXX announced today that the club has signed University of South Florida graduate Sammy Castellanos to a 15-day/5-game contract. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The contract is the second of the season for Castellanos, who also signed a 15-day/5-game contract on October 31, 2007.
The 23-year old Castellanos will join his older brother David on the team as a midfielder. Castellanos is a graduate of Cedar Grove Christian Academy, and began his college career at Rutgers University before transferring to South Florida. The KiXX selected Castellanos in the fourth round of the 2007 MISL Amateur Draft.
The club continues on the road with a trip to Milwaukee to battle the Wave at the U.S. Cellular Arena on Friday, January 4. The contest will be televised live on the Fox Soccer Channel beginning at 8:00 pm ET. The KiXX return home to entertain their Interstate-95 rival, the Baltimore Blast, on Saturday, January 5. Game-time at the Wachovia Spectrum is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET.
Philadelphia KiXX season tickets, 6-PaXX mini-plans are on sale now by calling the club's ticket office at 1-888-888-KiXX (5499). Season ticket holders will receive replica championship rings, as well as invitations to KiXX events like the Meet the Team Party and Meet the Team Luncheon. Single-game tickets are now available through the KiXX and the Wachovia Center Box Office, as well as online at www.comcasttix.com and at select Acme Market locations in PA and NJ.
