The first offensive strike of the game came off of Wave Co-Captain Todd Dusosky's foot. The play was sparked by a KiXX foul placing the ball in the corner for a restart taken by midfielder Johnny Torres. Torres slotted the ball off the wall to Dusosky who converted for the ninth time this season taking the Wave up 2-0 at 3:19 into the game. Possession remained in favor of the Wave and rookie Marcio Leite scored the team's second 2-pt goal off an assist from midfielder Giuliano Oliviero (9:52). The KiXX halved the lead with 4:15 remaining in the quarter with Player/Coach Don D'Ambra scoring a 2-point goal to end the quarter 4-2.

Philadelphia started the scoring in the second quarter with a goal from John Barry Nusum unassisted at 7:58. Answering just ten seconds later, Wave defender Joe Hammes scored his fifth goal of the month with the assist from Oliviero (his second of the night). Two minutes later, Hammes again found the back of the net barreling through the goal box and heading the ball off an assist from Dusosky (9:55) giving the Wave the four point advantage as they headed into the locker room for halftime.

In a third quarter riddled with fouls and penalties on both sides, the KiXX inched closer to the Wave lead with a goal from midfielder David Castellanos (2:35). Milwaukee, down two players from penalties, gave up the game-tying goal to D'Ambra. The third quarter ended with the score even at 8-8.

The fourth quarter started off in favor of the Wave when Genoni Martinez of the KiXX was issued a penalty for tripping. The Dusosky twins made a connection off the power play situation at 11:24. Troy Dusosky notched his first goal of the game with an assist from a Todd Dusosky restart pass giving the Wave the 10-8 advantage. The KiXX quickly answered with the first and only 3-point goal of the match from Dino Delevski. For the first time in the match the KiXX gained the lead 11-10.
