Wave takes on Philadelphia KiXX on Fan Appreciation Night this Friday, April 2

(Milwaukee, WI) Lots of fun and prize giveaways are in store for fans attending the Wave's final regular season home game this Friday, April 2 at 7:05 PM when Milwaukee takes on the Philadelphia Kixx in a Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) contest at U.S. Cellular Arena. Not only will all fans get to enjoy the annual Battle of the Mascots halftime soccer game presented by Verlo Mattress Factory Stores and 103.7 Kiss FM, but it will also be "Fan Appreciation Night," with many great prizes to be given away throughout the evening.

"Fan Appreciation Night is always a night to give back to the fans for all their support during the season," said Wave Director of Corporate Development John Tull. "We've got some great prizes we're going to be giving away, including a one-year lease on a brand new Subaru Baha from Don Jacobs Automotive, a Trek mountain bike, overnight stays at Wisconsin Dells, and shopping sprees at Piggly Wiggly and Kohls."

In addition to the prizes listed above, Verlo Mattress Factory Stores will also be giving away 2000 Wave All-Star Posters, including 50 autographed posters. Verlo will also be giving away a $2,000 mattress set for the family that wins the "Verlo Family Feud.," an on-field soccer contest between two families chosen from those who have signed up to participate at one of Verlo's Milwaukee area stores.

The Wave, which has already clinched the MISL Central Division Title and a first round bye in the upcoming playoffs, will be looking to improve upon its league-leading 25-9 record, which includes a 15-2 mark at U.S. Cellular Arena. Coach Keith Tozer's team should get all it can handle from the Kixx (19-15), one of Milwaukee's long-time rivals. The Wave wraps-up the 2003-04 regular season Saturday night (4/3, 6:35 PM) in Baltimore against the defending champion Blast; the winner of that contest will most likely clinch the #1 seed for the playoffs.

Milwaukee's first post-season game will be a one-game semi-final match against an opponent yet to be determined on Friday, April 16, 7:35 PM at U.S. Cellular Arena. The winner of that contest will advance to the best-of-five MISL Championship Series beginning the following weekend. Individual play-off tickets ($20, $16, and $14) as well as Wave Playoff 4-Packs (two dollar discount per ticket) are available through the Wave Office at 510 W. Kilbourn Ave. (Suite B), or by calling 414-224-WAVE (9283). Anyone who purchases a Wave Playoff 4-Pack will also receive two tickets for the Milwaukee Wave United A-League (outdoor) season opener on Friday, May 14, 7:05 PM v. the Edmonton Aviators at Uihlein Soccer Park.
