CLEVELAND, OHIO â The Cleveland Force will travel to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) and Eastern Division foe Baltimore Blast on Friday, April 2 at the 1st Mariner Arena. The game will mark the final regular season meeting between the two squads. Baltimore leads the season series 5-0, including a come from behind victory in the last meeting on February 22 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University.
Catch all the action live on WHK 1220 AM in Cleveland and WHKW 1440 AM in Warren or live on the Internet at www.thesportsking.com. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:35 p.m.
Cleveland comes into contest with a record 15-19 overall, 1-9 versus Eastern Division opponents and 6-11 on the road. The Force defeated the St. Louis Steamers 8-4 on last Sunday at home. The Force currently is in third place in the Eastern Division 5.0 games behind the Philadelphia KiXX for second place and 9.0 games behind the Blast for first.
Baltimore enters the game with a record of 24-10 overall, 8-3 versus Eastern Division opponents and 14-2 on the road. The Blast defeated the KiXX by a final score of 4-3 at 1st Mariner Arena.
Forward Lee Edgerton leads Cleveland in the season series with eight points. Edgerton has tallied three goals and added five assists in the five games. Forward Adauto Neto is second as he has recorded six goals and added one assists in four games.
All-Star forward Carlos "Chile" Farias, who is first in the MISL in assists and third in the MISL in scoring, leads Baltimore in the season series with 12 points. Farias has notched two goals and added 10 assists in the five games. All-Star forward Denison Cabral is second on the team in the season series with 10 points.
The Force has out shot the Blast 154-153 in the season series while Baltimore holds the advantage in the saves category 68-66. The two squads are tied in percentage on the power play as both have connected on 66 percent of their power play opportunities. The Blast has gone 6-9 and Cleveland has connected on 4-6.
