MILWAUKEE (Monday, March 14, 2005) – The Milwaukee Wave and Wave United, Wisconsin's premiere soccer organizations, announced today the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Wave Summer Soccer Camp Program. The program began in 1984, skipping only one summer, and has provided quality, personal instruction to soccer enthusiasts for 20 years. The dates and locations for the 2005 Wave Summer Soccer Camp Program presented by Piggly Wiggly were also released today.*

Milwaukee Wave Vice President of Soccer Operations and Head Coach Keith Tozer (the winningest coach in the history of North American indoor soccer) serves as the overall camp program director. The camp staff includes Wave United Head Coach Art Kramer, Wave Assistant Coach Steve Morris and the combined rosters for the Wave and Wave United. Among the featured site directors are Wave Captain and all-time leading scorer Michael King, All-Star forward Todd Dusosky and several other fan favorites such as defender Pat White, goalkeeper Dan Green, and midfielder Marcelo Fontana. Some of the state's top intercollegiate soccer coaches are also participating as guest instructors for the week-long camps this year in combination with guest coaches from other professional soccer organizations.

"Every year we are committed to upgrading all aspects of our summer soccer camp programs," said Tozer. "This year's overnight select academies feature instruction from some of Wisconsin's top college soccer coaching staffs, along with special guests from Wisconsin's Olympic Development Program, Major League Soccer teams and other professional soccer clubs."

Wave soccer camps provide a unique opportunity for participants to develop skills for soccer and social interaction. Thousands of children, ages four to 17, take part in the Wave summer soccer camp program, contributing to group and educational opportunities that are rarely found in any other sport. In addition to individualized instruction, each camper receives a hand-stitched Spalding soccer ball and a Milwaukee Wave Camp T-shirt.
