Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI (January 3, 2006) - Milwaukee Wave Vice President of Soccer Operations and Head Coach Keith Tozer announced today that the team has signed midfielder Alen Osmanovic to a two year contract.

Osmanovic returns to the team that he won a championship with during the 2000-01 season, his first in the league. In all, Osmanovic spent two seasons with the Wave, appearing in 56 games and scoring 15 goals while passing for five assists. He totaled 36 points and 34 blocks in his time in Milwaukee.

"We're excited about having Alen back," Keith Tozer said. "He adds tremendous depth in the midfield and has valuable experience as a member of our 2000-01 championship team. Alen is a great addition because he already knows our system and adds another left-footed threat to our team."

To make room for Osmanovic, on Saturday, December 31, the Wave traded midfielder Semir Mesanovic to the Chicago Storm in exchange for financial considerations. Mesanovic was in his third season with the Wave and had one assist in his two games with Milwaukee this season.

The first-place Milwaukee Wave plays back-to-back games against the Baltimore Blast this weekend. Friday night's game at the U.S. Cellular Arena kicks off at 7:05 p.m. The Wave travels to Baltimore on Saturday night for a 6:35 p.m. start. Both games can be heard on the Joy 1340 AM or via webcast at www.MilwaukeeWave.com. For more information on tickets, please call the Wave office at 414-224-WAVE (9283); groups of 10 or more qualify for discounted rates.

In 2001, the Wave transitioned to being a successful member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). Through the guidance of head coach Keith Tozer, the winningest coach in Wave and North American indoor soccer history, the Wave has won four league titles (1997-98, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2004-05), seven regular season championships, and has made seven championship series appearances.
