Wave rout Storm 20-5 in finale

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (April 5, 2009) - Facing the prospect of their first sub-.500 record in 16 years, the Milwaukee Wave responded in their season finale Sunday, routing the Chicago Storm 20-5 at the Sears Centre.

The Wave concluded their Silver Anniversary Season at 10-10, in third place in the Xtreme Soccer League's inaugural season. Chicago (7-13) finished last in the four-team league.

After Andy Rosenband put the Storm on top 2-0, the Wave dominated. Dino Delevski scored twice before the quarter was out and the Wave led 8-2. The advantage reached 14-2 before the Storm responded with a 3-point goal.

The 14-5 halftime advantage became 20-5 after three quarters. Eight different players scored the 10 Wave goals, with two each for Delevski and Brett Wiesner.

Though he didn't score a goal, rookie Marco Terminesi contributed three assists for to finish with 52 points, second in the XSL behind New Jersey's Lucio Gonzaga. Giuliano Oliviero was second with 40 points.

Marcel Feenstra returned to goal for the Wave and saved 19 shots to close the season with a 5-3 record.
