Milwaukee Wave News Release

(Milwaukee, WI) The Milwaukee Wave, a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that it has re-acquired goalkeeper Dan Green from the Chicago Storm. The 32 year-old Green, who was originally acquired by the Storm in the MISL Expansion Draft two months ago, returns to the Wave in exchange for the indoor rights of goalkeeper Jeff Richey and defender Rick Titus.

Green's re-acquisition pairs him up with Nick Vorberg to once again comprise the Wave's goalkeeping tandem for the upcoming season. The two combined to provide Milwaukee with the league's best goalkeeping during the 2003-04 campaign (27-9 record with a 4.37 GAA), with Green emerging as the Wave's number one ‘keeper in the second half of the season. The former Hartland (WI) Arrowhead H.S. and Northern Illinois star had a breakthrough season in his sixth indoor campaign, posting an 18-3 record with a league-leading 4.02 GAA during the regular season. He also anchored Milwaukee's run to the MISL Championship Series in which the Wave was defeated by the Baltimore Blast.

"It's great to be back with the Wave organization even though I never really left," said Green. "I've spent nearly my entire professional career in Milwaukee and there really isn't anywhere else I'd rather play."

"We're extremely happy about getting Dan back," said Wave Coach / Milwaukee Vice-President of Soccer Operations Keith Tozer. He's been a mainstay in the Wave organization for many years and we hope to have him for many more.

"This is a trade that should be good for both clubs. Jeff is a developing player who should get a chance to compete for playing time and this works out well for him since he's currently living in the Chicago area. I think Frank Klopas and the Chicago franchise deserve a lot of credit for making this deal happen; they're a great partner to have in the league."

The 26-year old Richey, who is currently in his second season with the Wave United outdoor team, did not make any appearances with the Wave indoor side this past season. The Fort Wayne, IN native, who starred at IUPU-Fort Wayne, could challenge for significant playing time in Chicago despite his formal lack of indoor experience.

Titus, a 35-year old native of Toronto, ON, has not played indoor soccer since the 2000-01 season. He is currently playing in the A-League (outdoors) with the Charleston Battery. In five previous indoor seasons, Titus has appeared in 143 regular season games with 61 goals and 31 assists for 92 points. He has also recorded five goals and five assists for 10 points in 18 playoff games.

The Wave will begin its 21st campaign on the road October 23, with the home opener at U.S. Cellular Arena scheduled for Friday, October 29th at U.S. Cellular Arena. The entire MISL schedule is expected to be released later this month. Season ticket packages, including the new VIP Elite seating packages with waiter / waitress service are available through the Wave / Wave United Office at 510 W. Kilbourn Ave., Suite B in downtown Milwaukee. Call 414-224-WAVE for more information, or visit www.milwaukeewave.com.
