Force Draft Pick's Goals Advance Riverhounds To Semifinals

Cleveland Force draft pick Said Ali tallied up two more goals this weekend as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds scored a 3-1 win against the Harrisburg City Islanders in the Pro Soccer League quarterfinals. This win advanced the Riverhounds to a record of 19-2-1 and a chance to play in the league semi-finals.

In the thirty-second minute of the game, Ali netted his first goal of the game through and offside trap to put the Riverhounds ahead 2-1. Later in the game, Ali snuck past the backline of the Islanders to secure the 3-1 win against the Islanders.

Ali has been a force all season for the Riverhounds. With the two goals this weekend, Ali moved to third place in the Pro Soccer League for points scored at 34. Ali also remains in second place in goal leaders for 15 goals and sixth place for shot leaders with 48 shots this season. Ali has also been named to the United Soccer League's Team of the Week eight times this season and also received Player of the Week honors for Week thirteen of the season.

Ali and the Riverhounds will advance to the Pro Soccer League semi-finals Saturday, August 28, 2004 against the Utah Blitzz.
