Wave-Philadelphia Preview
December 10, 2009 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Milwaukee Wave News Release
QUICK FACTS:
SERIES RECORD: Wave leads 33-21
MILWAUKEE COACH: Keith Tozer (604-377/26 seasons)
PHILADELPHIA COACH: Don D'Ambra (112-107/11 seasons)
LIVE WEBCAST: B2TV.com THE SKINNY: The Wave had practiced well, played well on the road and were ready to enjoy their home field last Sunday. But the result was far less than envisioned, as Monterrey scored the game's final 13 points in a 15-4 win. For this game, Milwaukee expects to have defender Joe Hammes back in the lineup after he missed a pair of games with a hip injury. Three La Raza goals last week deflected in off Wave defenders; deflected goals are part of the indoor game but it's an unusually high number. Philadelphia is populated with former Wave players; Anthony Maher, Joe DiBuono, Ricardinho and Angel Rivillo all wore the blue and red at one time. So did Don D'Ambra, who relinquished his playing role this year to focus solely on coaching. Veteran goalkeeper Peter Pappas has retired, and Sanaldo (Detroit, California, Rockford) is in his place. The KiXX dropped their first two games, then traveled to unbeaten Rockford and took a 14-0 halftime lead in a 20-6 rout. Leo Gibson was the MISL Player of the Week after scoring four goals in that game. WAVE MILESTONE WATCH: -
